The sixth session of the Ruisheng Lecture Hall, titled "Integrating the Four Seas, Winning the Future with Animal Husbandry - China-Vietnam, South Korea, India and Pakistan Feed and Animal Husbandry Development Forum", was a complete success

On April 23, 2025, Guangdong Ruisheng Technology Group Co., Ltd. held the sixth Ruisheng Lecture Hall: "Connecting the World, Winning the Future with Animal Husbandry - A Forum on Feed and Animal Husbandry Development among China, Vietnam, South Korea, India and Pakistan". Nearly a hundred people were specially invited to attend the meeting, including representatives from agricultural and animal husbandry enterprises in Vietnam, South Korea, India and Pakistan, as well as well-known domestic animal husbandry experts, entrepreneurs and Ruisheng's partners. Meanwhile, this lecture hall was live-streamed online simultaneously. According to statistics, the number of online viewers who watched the live stream exceeded 260,000 on that day.



At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Lin Yisheng, the chairman of Ruisheng Group, delivered a speech. The Ruisheng Lecture Hall, adhering to the principle of "information transmission, technological innovation, exchange and learning, and joint development", has been successfully held for five sessions. China, Vietnam, South Korea, India and Pakistan are connected by mountains and rivers and share cultures. Their traditional friendship has endured over time. With the deepening of the globalization process and the vigorous development of regional cooperation mechanisms, the cooperation achievements among China, Vietnam, South Korea, India and Pakistan in the fields of agricultural science and technology, green economy and animal husbandry have been increasingly fruitful. Through this forum, we hope to build a platform to promote in-depth exchanges among enterprises and experts from the five countries and inject new impetus into the upgrading of the regional industrial chain.

Immediately after, the representative from Vietnam, Nguyen Van Minh, Chairman of Tek Nandan Joint Stock Co., LTD., the representative from South Korea, Dr. Yang Ji-young, CEO of Hanyang Feed Co., LTD., the representative from India, Tarandip Singh Kacha, CEO of R.M Company, and the representative from Pakistan, Mudassar Ali of DDF Group, delivered speeches in turn. It also introduced the current situation and development trends of feed and animal husbandry in various countries. It is also hoped that through this forum and exchange, a bridge of cooperation can be built, the scope of cooperation can be further expanded, and the new development of feed and animal husbandry in various countries can be jointly promoted.




The livestock feed industry in China has experienced remarkable development in the past few decades. Zhang Lixiang, a professor and doctoral supervisor at Renmin University of China, the group leader and chief expert of the National Major Project on Rural Revitalization, and the vice president of the China Society of Forestry, Animal Husbandry and Fishery Economics and the director of the Pig Farming Professional Committee, shared "The Current Situation and Development Trends of China's Animal Husbandry and Feed Industry" at the meeting. As one of the earliest market-oriented industries in China, the feed industry It has developed into an industry with a complete industrial chain and an output value scale exceeding one trillion yuan. In 2024, China's total industrial feed output reached 302 million tons, with a value exceeding 1.3 trillion yuan, accounting for more than 25% of the global feed output value. China has ranked first in the world for 12 consecutive years. With the development of economic globalization, China's livestock and feed industry will further unleash its potential in global collaboration, contribute a "Chinese solution" to ensuring global livestock food safety and promoting agricultural technological innovation, share the dividends of development with the world, and help domestic and foreign enterprises achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.




Pham Duc Hien, the chairman of Vietnam Nutrition Food Co., LTD., delivered a speech titled "The Development of Feed and Animal Husbandry in China and Vietnam". Vietnam's feed industry is experiencing a period of rapid development. In 2024, its output reached 21.5 million tons, an increase of 3.4% year-on-year, ranking eighth globally. Thanks to the digital economy and high-tech applications, IoT and AI technologies have helped increase production efficiency by 25% and reduce costs by 30%. The Vietnamese government has introduced tax incentives (0% VAT, 0-5% import tax) and policy support to attract foreign investment cooperation, especially the in-depth interaction with China in the fields of technology transfer and investment. Furthermore, the livestock industry grew by 5.4%, and the exports of vaccines and egg products performed outstandingly. In the future, Vietnam plans to enhance automated production, reduce its reliance on imports, and aims to achieve stable growth from 2025 to 2030, further expanding its international market.


Dr. Yang Ji-young, the CEO of Hanyang Feed Co., LTD., introduced the current situation and challenges of the livestock and feed industry in South Korea at the meeting. The scale of South Korea's livestock industry is approximately 40 billion US dollars, dominated by pigs, cattle and poultry, with the feed industry holding an important share. As the country with the highest per capita meat consumption in Asia (80 kilograms per year), although the South Korean market is strictly protected and the price is higher than that of imported products, the demand continues to grow. However, the industry is confronted with severe challenges: a shortage of labor relying on foreign employees, young people's insufficient interest in traditional agriculture and animal husbandry, and frequent national animal diseases. The feed industry is highly concentrated, with only 72 factories, limited competition and relatively low technological content. Dr. Yang Zhiying pointed out that although the market is closed and sales-oriented, enterprises are still committed to sustainable development through process, material and human resource optimization. The industry urgently needs innovation and policy support to address future challenges.

If the product is not up to standard, all efforts should be reset to zero. Ma Shuzhen, the president of Shandong Jiujiu and Mu Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Group, delivered a speech titled "Stay True to Our Original Aspiration, Products Are the Root, and Product Power is Competitiveness". Against the backdrop of overcapacity and fierce competition in the feed industry in 2024, Shandong Jiujiu and Mu Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Group achieved growth against the trend by adhering to the concept that "product power is competitiveness". Ma Shuzhen, the president of the group, emphasized that small and medium-sized enterprises should take characteristic products and technological research and development as the foundation. Jiujiu and Mu have created functional and valuable pig feed through European-style precise nutrition technology, such as innovative products like "Three-stage teaching Trough" and "Three-stage Care", significantly enhancing the breeding efficiency. The group attaches great importance to the selection of raw materials, precise nutrition and functional research and development, increasing the comprehensive benefit of each pig by 100 to 200 yuan. Facing industry challenges, Jiujiu Hemu adheres to technological innovation and cost control, integrating AI with short-video marketing to explore new markets. Its successful experience shows that product strength is the key for small and medium-sized enterprises to break through.

Dr. Xu Zhiqian, the director of the Engineering Research and Development Center of Guangdong Ruisheng Group, gave a presentation on the theme of "Innovation and Application of Flavorings and Sweeteners", delving deeply into the significant role of flavorings and sweeteners in feed and the cutting-edge research achievements. Dr. Xu Zhiqian pointed out that flavoring and sweeteners can not only improve the palatability of feed, promote animal intake and digestion and absorption, but also relieve stress and enhance growth performance. Through multi-signaling pathway technology, olfactory receptor research and intestinal function regulation, the next-generation functional flavoring agents and sweeteners developed by Ruisheng Group have demonstrated significant appetitation-inducing advantages in weaned piglets and nursery pigs, effectively increasing daily weight gain and reducing feed-to-meat ratio. In addition, these additives also have antibacterial and antioxidant functions and can enhance the reproductive performance of sows. Dr. Xu emphasized that in the future, the research and development of feed additives should be oriented towards functional expansion and the evaluation of actual animal effects, providing a scientific basis for enterprises to select high-quality product solutions.

Meanwhile, this meeting also added an interactive forum, which was hosted by Li Fengli, the general manager of Henan Nongke Animal Husbandry Co., LTD. Her viewpoints were clear and distinct, facilitating mutual learning and reflection.

Great changes have taken place in all walks of life in China: many uncertain factors such as policy environment, market channels, consumer demand, and industrial upgrading have profoundly influenced and changed the development of the agricultural and animal husbandry industry. In an era of unprecedented great changes, the phenomenon of intense competition within the agricultural and livestock industry is severe. How should agricultural and livestock enterprises respond? Zhang Lixiang, a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor at Renmin University of China, the head and chief expert of the National Major Project Group for Rural Revitalization, and the director of the China Animal Husbandry and Feed Industry Research Center at Renmin University of China, shared "Six Strategies for Small and Medium-sized Agricultural and Livestock Enterprises to Navigate Through the Intra-Industry Competition". At present, the agricultural and livestock industry is undergoing rapid changes. We should not only see the challenges, but also the opportunities. As farmers and herdsmen, we should be more proactive in facing market challenges. Only enterprises that are courageous in innovation can break through and reshape new growth in the competition.


Professor Jiang Qingyan, a Pearl River Scholar from Guangdong Province and from the College of Animal Sciences at South China Agricultural University, shared "Two Key Points for Improving Piglet Feeding Efficiency and Their Nutritional Regulation Strategies" at the conference, pointing out that increasing feed intake is the nutritional source for promoting piglet growth, and maintaining intestinal health is an important guarantee for improving piglet feeding efficiency. Weaning stress is the core factor affecting the production efficiency of piglets. How to increase the feed intake of livestock and poultry is an important issue that urgently needs to be solved in breeding production. The reasonable addition of flavoring agents to feed can improve the palatability of the feed, mask unpleasant odors ‌, promote digestion and absorption ‌, enhance production performance ‌, increase feed intake ‌, strengthen the resistance of animals to stress responses ‌, and ‌ improve the quality of livestock and poultry products ‌.


Vietnam 's feed industry and aquaculture industry have developed rapidly, making it one of the largest feed producers and exporters in Southeast Asia ‌. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tao, the Foreign Affairs Director of Vietnam Tek Nandan Joint Stock Company, shared "Overview of Vietnam's Recent Livestock Development and Raw Material Market". In the first half of 2024, Vietnam's livestock product export value reached 240 million US dollars, an increase of 3.8% year-on-year. Delivering better products to more high-quality customers at a lower price and in a more convenient way is the most concerning issue for every feed enterprise. Mr. Li Fengli, the supervisor of Henan Feed Industry Association and the president of Henan Nongke Animal Husbandry Co., LTD., has his own unique insights on what products pig farms need most - product innovation, and what services pig farms need most - marketing innovation. In modern animal husbandry, the industrial application of traditional Chinese medicine in the breeding industry is becoming increasingly widespread. Dr. Liu Tianqiang, the director of the Major Customer Department of Tongwei Agricultural Development Co., LTD., has explored a new model of healthy animal production in China by integrating the industrial model of "traditional Chinese medicine + animal husbandry" in terms of the current predicament of livestock, poultry and aquaculture, as well as in the prevention of diarrhea in pigs, diarrhea in calves, prevention of non-clean blue, prevention and control of salpingitis in laying hens, and prevention and control of aquatic diseases.



Reducing the use of corn and soybean meal is the main way to lower costs and increase efficiency in the livestock industry. Dr. Yi Xuewu, the R&D director of Hunan Xinmeilong Group Co., LTD., shared his insights on solving the production and application problems of low-protein diets based on extensive empirical evidence from growing pigs. In the corn-soybean meal-based diet, after the dietary protein was reduced by 4 percentage points compared with the recommended value in the "Swine Feeding Standards" (2004), and after supplementing synthetic amino acids, growing pigs consuming a low-protein diet could achieve production performance similar to that of high-protein ones. In the low-protein corn-soybean meal-based diet for growing pigs, the net energy requirement for achieving the maximum average daily gain and the optimal feed conversion rate was 2.36 Mcal/kg, and the corresponding net energy ratio of lysine was 4.70 g/Mcal.

Dr. Xu Zhiqian, the director of the Engineering Research and Development Center of Guangdong Ruisheng Group, shared "Sniffing the Future • 'Fragrance' Planning a New Situation - Innovation and Application of Flavoring Agents". The report systematically explained flavoring agents from three aspects. Firstly, it reviewed the global feed flavoring agent market and introduced the development and prospects of flavoring agents. Then the application of flavoring agents was introduced. Besides having a good application effect on young animals, flavoring agents also have high application value in female livestock and animal welfare. Finally, innovations regarding fragrance agents were shared. By utilizing new olfactory receptors and combining the functions of fragrance agents in intestinal health, antibacterial and antioxidant properties, and reproduction, fragrance agent products with stronger functions and better effects can be developed.

 

Meanwhile, this conference also added three special interactive forums, which were hosted by Zhou Hong, the full-time deputy secretary-general of the Guangdong Feed Industry Association, and Fan Ganyou, the chairman of the Weizhu Group. The forum guests shared their experiences and insights one by one, with clear viewpoints, exchanges and learning from each other, and sparked thoughts.
