Great changes have taken place in all walks of life in China: many uncertain factors such as policy environment, market channels, consumer demand, and industrial upgrading have profoundly influenced and changed the development of the agricultural and animal husbandry industry. In an era of unprecedented great changes, the phenomenon of intense competition within the agricultural and livestock industry is severe. How should agricultural and livestock enterprises respond? Zhang Lixiang, a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor at Renmin University of China, the head and chief expert of the National Major Project Group for Rural Revitalization, and the director of the China Animal Husbandry and Feed Industry Research Center at Renmin University of China, shared "Six Strategies for Small and Medium-sized Agricultural and Livestock Enterprises to Navigate Through the Intra-Industry Competition". At present, the agricultural and livestock industry is undergoing rapid changes. We should not only see the challenges, but also the opportunities. As farmers and herdsmen, we should be more proactive in facing market challenges. Only enterprises that are courageous in innovation can break through and reshape new growth in the competition.
Professor Jiang Qingyan, a Pearl River Scholar from Guangdong Province and from the College of Animal Sciences at South China Agricultural University, shared "Two Key Points for Improving Piglet Feeding Efficiency and Their Nutritional Regulation Strategies" at the conference, pointing out that increasing feed intake is the nutritional source for promoting piglet growth, and maintaining intestinal health is an important guarantee for improving piglet feeding efficiency. Weaning stress is the core factor affecting the production efficiency of piglets. How to increase the feed intake of livestock and poultry is an important issue that urgently needs to be solved in breeding production. The reasonable addition of flavoring agents to feed can improve the palatability of the feed, mask unpleasant odors , promote digestion and absorption , enhance production performance , increase feed intake , strengthen the resistance of animals to stress responses , and improve the quality of livestock and poultry products .

Vietnam 's feed industry and aquaculture industry have developed rapidly, making it one of the largest feed producers and exporters in Southeast Asia . Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tao, the Foreign Affairs Director of Vietnam Tek Nandan Joint Stock Company, shared "Overview of Vietnam's Recent Livestock Development and Raw Material Market". In the first half of 2024, Vietnam's livestock product export value reached 240 million US dollars, an increase of 3.8% year-on-year. Youdaoplaceholder0 The livestock industry in Vietnam also faces huge challenges: fierce market competition, reliance on imported raw materials, backward technology, food safety issues, and price disadvantages in international market competition. It is hoped that through this forum, we can have in-depth discussions and deepen cooperation with many outstanding Chinese agricultural and livestock enterprises, and have a strong desire to promote mutual benefit and win-win results.
Delivering better products to more high-quality customers at a lower price and in a more convenient way is the most concerning issue for every feed enterprise. Mr. Li Fengli, the supervisor of Henan Feed Industry Association and the president of Henan Nongke Animal Husbandry Co., LTD., has his own unique insights on what products pig farms need most - product innovation, and what services pig farms need most - marketing innovation. Nongke Animal Husbandry will remain true to its original aspiration, continue to focus on product research and development, leverage the advantages of Internet marketing, and forge its own core competitiveness.
In modern animal husbandry, the industrial application of traditional Chinese medicine in the breeding industry is becoming increasingly widespread. Dr. Liu Tianqiang, the director of the Major Customer Department of Tongwei Agricultural Development Co., LTD., has explored a new model of healthy animal production in China by integrating the industrial model of "traditional Chinese medicine + animal husbandry" in terms of the current predicament of livestock, poultry and aquaculture, as well as in the prevention of diarrhea in pigs, diarrhea in calves, prevention of non-clean blue, prevention and control of salpingitis in laying hens, and prevention and control of aquatic diseases.
Reducing the use of corn and soybean meal is the main way to lower costs and increase efficiency in the livestock industry. Dr. Yi Xuewu, the R&D director of Hunan Xinmeilong Group Co., LTD., shared his insights on solving the production and application problems of low-protein diets based on extensive empirical evidence from growing pigs. In the corn-soybean meal-based diet, after the dietary protein was reduced by 4 percentage points compared with the recommended value in the "Swine Feeding Standards" (2004), and after supplementing synthetic amino acids, growing pigs consuming a low-protein diet could achieve production performance similar to that of high-protein ones. In the low-protein corn-soybean meal-based diet for growing pigs, the net energy requirement for achieving the maximum average daily gain and the optimal feed conversion rate was 2.36 Mcal/kg, and the corresponding net energy ratio of lysine was 4.70 g/Mcal.
Dr. Xu Zhiqian, the director of the Engineering Research and Development Center of Guangdong Ruisheng Group, shared "Sniffing the Future • 'Fragrance' Planning a New Situation - Innovation and Application of Flavoring Agents". The report systematically explained flavoring agents from three aspects. Firstly, it reviewed the global feed flavoring agent market and introduced the development and prospects of flavoring agents. Then the application of flavoring agents was introduced. Besides having a good application effect on young animals, flavoring agents also have high application value in female livestock and animal welfare. Finally, innovations regarding fragrance agents were shared. By utilizing new olfactory receptors and combining the functions of fragrance agents in intestinal health, antibacterial and antioxidant properties, and reproduction, fragrance agent products with stronger functions and better effects can be developed.
Meanwhile, this conference also added three special interactive forums, which were hosted by Zhou Hong, the full-time deputy secretary-general of the Guangdong Feed Industry Association, and Fan Ganyou, the chairman of the Weizhu Group. The forum guests shared their experiences and insights one by one, with clear viewpoints, exchanges and learning from each other, and sparked thoughts.
